SHOULD to COULD

Two letters make a big difference.
Shift from SHould-y expectations to the possibility-powered Could!

Tweak your words and choose your life with confidence.

SHOULDs keep us idling at life’s stop sign. Where should I go next? What should I do? What should I major in? What job offer should I take? I should be happy; I have everything I’ve ever wanted.

We think we SHOULD keep doing XYZ thing so we don’t rock the boat, disappoint anyone, make the ‘wrong’ decision….the excuse list goes on for miles. Idling feels easier, more secure…but it doesn’t quiet the restlessness in your mind and heart telling you ‘This isn’t it. Isn’t there more?’ In fact, idling merely makes the inner voice louder.

What if you could:

  • Shift your SHOULDs into COULDs, ditching what doesn’t serve you while opening yourself up to possibilities

  • Transform the COULDs into YOU CHOOSE - discern your direction, hit the gas and trust your inner-GPS

  • Confidently cruise ahead with turn-by-turn guidance

Jill’s story of becoming a Shoulding Survivor will inspire you to shift your SHOULDs, see your COULDs and CHOOSE for yourself. Your best life according to YOU.

Key Takeaways:

  • Identify expectations (SHOULDs), where they come from and their influence on current circumstances

  • Translate SHOULDs into COULDs by identifying the differences and discovering opportunities

  • Create an action plan (your map!) and tips to CHOOSE to move forward with confidence

Jill’S OFFICIAL BIO

She's the JILL for the job. Jill Andersen is a speaker and coach whose life was just okay until her SHOULDS hit the fan and everything changed. Equipped with an MBA, a divorce, more than a few job changes, and a helluva lot of perspective....

She’s sharing her experiences and inspiring audiences to:

  • Ditch SHOULDs and discover what lights them up

  • Look at life backwards to learn how to live it moving forward

Growing up in small town Iowa the second of four daughters, Jill followed all of the rules (only got grounded once!) and excelled at doing life by the book. She earned a B.S. in food science from Iowa State University, chose only internships and jobs in her field, earned an MBA after breaking up with her boyfriend because she had nothing else to do, got married, got divorced 18 months later and hasn't done life by the book since.

A 'Jill-of-all-trades' she loves working in higher education at Iowa State University and Drake University, speaking and leading workshops. She is a fear wrangler, shoulding survivor, wife to her Ironman husband, dog mom of Hank McFluffernutter, traveler and lover of food.

Most of all, Jill’s purpose is to inspire people to live so they don't die with a long list of SHOULD-haves.
